Spring is here and the first termites to be found (by us at least) were in Jefferson, Georgia. Spring and fall are the busy seasons for pest control but spring even more so. This is because all of the insects, including termites that have been dormant or killed off throughout the winter re-emerge when the grounds starts to warm up. In termites they actually start to swarm or fly as they look for that special someone in their life. To a lot of people they appear to look like flying ants but upon closer inspection termites are often found to be the culprits. This “swarm season” as we refer to it in the pest control industry will last a couple of months on average until the termites start their new colonies. These destructive pests are always present in the environment but it is the activity of the swarm that alerts many homeowners and business owners to their presence.
